All-on-6 dental implants are a type of implant-supported prosthesis used
to replace a full arch of missing teeth in either the upper or lower
jaw.
On the day of the surgery, you will receive a local anesthetic to numb the treatment area. If necessary, any remaining teeth in the arch will be removed.
The oral surgeon or dentist will then make small incisions in your gums and drill holes into your jawbone to accommodate the dental implants.
The six dental implants are placed strategically in the jawbone. These implants act as artificial tooth roots and will fuse with the bone over time through a process called osseointegration.
Following implant placement, a healing phase ensues, often spanning
several months, allowing implants to securely integrate with the
jawbone, forming a strong base for the final prosthesis.
