Chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses drugs to kill cancer cells.
The drugs are usually given through a vein (intravenously), in pill form, or as a shot. Chemotherapy can be used alone or with other treatments, like surgery and radiation therapy.
The side effects of chemotherapy can include hair loss, nausea, fatigue, and an increased risk of infection.
To stay one day in the hospital, 20 days outside of hospital.
Success of chemotherapy varies, depends on type/stage of cancer, patient's health and combination of drugs used. Can shrink tumors, slow cancer growth and kill cancer cells but may not always cure. Success rate can vary greatly.
